GradeAtlas is an independently operated reference project. It is maintained by a small editorial group rather than a large newsroom, so we publish the roles, the sourcing rules, and a direct contact route instead of marketing biographies.

Research & data curation
Collects grading scales and band tables from ministries of education, national qualification frameworks, and university registrars, and records the source URL and retrieval date for every scale we publish.
Verification & review
Cross-checks each national default against independent sources, flags disagreements between sources on the page itself, and assigns the confidence level shown on every country guide.
Engineering & tooling
Builds the conversion engine, the automated consistency checks that run on every release, and the correction workflow that turns reader reports into reviewed data changes.
Editorial standards
- Every published grading scale carries its source and the date it was checked.
- Where sources disagree, we show the disagreement instead of silently picking one.
- Conversions are clearly labelled as estimates; GradeAtlas is not a credential evaluator.
- Reader corrections are reviewed against an official source before anything changes.
- Advertising never influences which countries, institutions, or scales we publish.
